Justin Stephenson is an award-winning director and digital artist whose work focuses on materialities – the physical qualities of subjects and media. His recent projects include the animated dance film "From Jazz to Jackboots" about Nazi censorship.
In addition to his work as a director, Stephenson's distinctive visual and creative style has made him a sought-after title designer, collaborating with prominent filmmakers like David Cronenberg, Sarah Polley, Atom Egoyan, and Andrew Stanton while his innovative animation work features in documentaries by Tasha Hubbard, Jennifer Baichwal, Kevin McMahon and others.
His accolades include two Canadian Screen Awards for Gord Downie's Secret Path projects, a Juno nomination, and multiple Golden Sheaf Awards, including one for "The Complete Works," a film exploring the work of poet bpNichol.
