Arnold Schoenberg: A Portrait
May 7, 2001
glenn gould studio, toronto
An eclectic program of a 20th century Master featuring Scheonberg’s arrangement of Strauss' Emperor Waltz, the Cabaret Songs, Transfigured Night and excerpts from Schoenberg’s critical writings. This was the third of three portrait concerts that comprised our 2000/2001 season. Unfortunately, the Cabaret Songs had to be cut as Martin Tielli fell ill shortly before the performance. They were, however, performed as part of our 2003 and 2004 Schoenberg portrait concerts.
