All We Are Saying (2018)

All We Are Saying

May 10-12, 2018

harbourfront centre theatre, toronto

The power of music to galvanize a movement and inspire resistance was highlighted in two programs of music that reached across genre, historical context, and message.

The Classical & Folk Program featured George Crumb's Black Angels (inspired by the Vietnam war) for string quartet backed by a live film mix, plus music by John Prine, Bob Dylan, Yip Harburg, Dimitri Shostakovich & Frederic Rzewski.

The Songs Program included songs by Nina Simone, John Lennon, Buffy Sainte-Marie, Bruce Cockburn, Stevie Wonder, Joni Mitchell, Marvin Gaye, and many others.
